Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Maternal Mental Health Specialist
Hi, welcome and thank you for visiting my webpage.
I’d like to share with you a little bit about myself. I am a licensed clinical social worker whose private practice specializes in Maternal Mental Health. My office is located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, and I am bilingual in both English and Spanish.
I am an active member of the Postpartum International (PSI). Specifically, I currently serve as PSI’s support coordinator for Riverside County and the Inland Empire in Southern California. I have obtained a Postpartum International certificate in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders: Components of Care. Additionally, I have also obtained PSI’s Advanced Perinatal Mental Health certificate.
I have worked in the mental health field professionally since 2010. However, interest in the field of counseling significantly predates 2010, and has been a passion of mine since I was school age. Since I was little, I have had strong empathic qualities that nurtured my interest in human behavior, relationships, and experiences.
I earned my Masters Degree in Social Work in 2010. I have worked in both inpatient hospital and outpatient clinical settings. My career has included therapeutic work with children, adolescents, and families. My goal is to offer a non-judgmental, safe space for you to be able to discuss and process thoughts and experiences and work closely with you to restore your emotional wellness.
My therapeutic work incorporates evidenced-based modalities such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy and trauma-informed care.
My work integrates a social justice framework, which recognizes how historical socio-political policies and systems have negatively affected many and can often contribute to generational trauma. I practice cultural humility and continue to work on deepening my understanding of factors that contribute to our overall emotional wellness.
I am a wife, mother of two, and Maternal Mental Health Advocate. After living through and experiencing postpartum complications first hand, the direction of my career was transformed. My experiences became my passion and I now have made it my life’s work to learn about, work with, and assist others going through similar circumstances. I have completely immersed myself in all things related to perinatal health and wellness.
I strongly believe therapy can be beneficial to individuals whether or not they are experiencing distress or trauma. We are ALL living through or recovering from something. Therapy can facilitate a deeper understanding of oneself, our relationships, and our living environment.
I am a strong proponent of eliminating the mental health stigma. I practice from a holistic mental health perspective that recognizes that our brain function should not be viewed or perceived any differently than our heart or lung function.
